The Philippine Energy Independence Council (PEIC) is a collective of like-minded individuals who believe that the Philippines is facing a slowly creeping crisis born of a continuously growing demand for energy that may no longer be met by the country’s energy reserves in the future. The PEIC thus advocates for indigenous, renewable and cleaner options to be made available for our people.
With this in mind, the PEIC was convened to continuously initiate public discourses on what must be done to move government decision-makers to beef up our energy reserves and trigger discussions that can lead to concrete steps towards the goal of energy independence.
The council is composed of business leaders and private individuals who share the vision of an energy-independent Philippines that is able to produce enough of its own energy to meet its own demands and substantially decrease dependence on other countries.
